{Peanut Allergy Info} How to Read Nutrition Labels for Nut Allergies

One of the most common questions that I get regarding my daughter's peanut allergy is "What treats are safe?" and "Can you tell me if _____ is safe for peanut allergies?"  I put together a list of commonly safe candy and treats last year.

This year I put together a packet for my daughter's teacher and "specials" teachers (gym, library, etc.).  I included several things that I felt were important for her to know.  One of those things was a document on How to Read Nutrition Labels and what to look for.  I'd love to share it with you (and for you to share it with others!).

One of the most important things that I want to mention is to always check labels, even if you have eaten or purchased that food 100 times before.  We've found through experience that cross contamination always depends on where the product was manufactured.  And some products are manufactured in multiple plants (meaning some are safe and some are not).  Oreos and Hershey candy are both perfect examples of this!
