Recap of the Year

Since the year is coming to an end, I thought it would be fun to recap what we've done this year!

First and foremost, I started the blog in March.  And I never imagined that it would grow to what it is today!

In May, my baby turned two and he had a Cars Birthday Party.  My printables from the party brought over 300 people to the blog from Google searches!  

We did a week long course on coupling in May! {Did you know I had a short stint as a couponing/deal blogger?...only lasted a few months.}

In August, I hosted Sew Chic Upcycling Week with Seamingly Smitten and it was so much fun!

And my big girl turned four!  And she had a Disney Tangled birthday party!

In September, we went to Disney World!  And I had a very brief stint on Crafting with the Stars!

In October, This Crazy Blessed Life got a Facebook Page!

And this month, we did a Week of Giving complete with our first giveaway day!

There's been guest posting on blogs like Delicate Construction and The CSI Project.

And the blog has been featured on some big blogs like Tatertots and Jello, Copycat Crafts, and Sugar Bee Crafts.

I apologize for being absent over the past week!  I'm sure that you all were just as busy with the Christmas festivities as we were!

We've celebrated for the past three days and we are warn out.  But our hearts are full from spending time with our family.  And the kids were super spoiled!

DIY Personalized Stationary Gifts

So, I posted this lovely gift idea over at delicateConstruction a few weeks ago!

I know it's still a month away, but one of my resolutions for 2012 is to keep it personal.  With my friends, my mom and sisters, my husband, and my kids.  And the best way that I can think of to keep it personal is handwritten notes.

I don't know about you, but like my kids, I love getting fun things in the mail!  So this year, we're going to do more "Thank Yous," "Thinking of Yous," and "Just Because" notes.

And along those lines, I wanted to make some cute little stationary sets for my friends {and myself!!}.

It was so easy to do...and I had everything on hand!

You'll need:

Printer Paper {with a decent weight...copy paper is kinda thin for this}
Printer
Envelopes
Photoshop or Picnik or even Word

First, find some super cute fonts.  I like daFont for free downloadable fonts.  I used Channel and Century Gothic.

Using any program, design what you want your header to look like.  I kept mine simple...and it was easy to switch out for my friends!



I wanted to be able to get two pieces of stationary per sheet of paper, so I cut my pieces in half horizontally giving you a 8" x 5.5" stationary.  The easiest way to print them is to change your paper orientation to landscape and align this all the way to the top left.  Print.  Insert paper to print on the back and print again.  Cut up the center and you're done!



I added little envelopes and finished with a cute little ribbon.



Super easy...super cheap...and super cute!
