We are back from our trip to Disney World!
It was so magical. I was brought to tears watching my children meet their favorite characters. Even Matt had to try really hard not to cry. Their excitement and happiness was contagious.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom was, by far, our favorite. We even ditched Epcot to go back to Magic Kingdom for a second day.
We started out with breakfast at Cinderella's Castle. I didn't think that Grayson would care for it, so I briefly considered just doing me and Layne. Matt wanted to see her too, so we did the whole family. And boy, am I glad we did! Grayson loved the Princesses just as much as his sister did! He hugged them and didn't ever want to let go.
Layne's other big highlight besides meeting the other princesses was meeting Rapunzel. She colored a picture while waiting and gave it to Rapunzel. She looked right at Layne and said, "Thank you! I can't wait to hang it in my tower! And I bet Flynn will love it too." She was totally smitten by her!
After a day full of rides and 2 hour naps, we headed back for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. This was totally worth it in my books! We didn't spend much time Trick or Treating...the lines were way too long. Which means we had more time to ride rides and meet more characters.
We loved the Boo To You parade. And the fireworks were awesome too!
Animal Kingdom was fun. We went on the Safari Ride, which was really cool. We were literally about 7-8 ft away from a giraffe!
Hollywood Studios was right up Grayson's alley. We got there around 11 am and went right to the Toy Story Mania ride to get Fast Passes. They were already out of all Fast Passes until 6:20! {After riding it, it was worth the wait!} We got to see the Green Army Men from Toy Story.
It was right about then that Grayson saw them. He stopped dead in his tracks and walked right over to get in line. It was Buzz and Woody!
We watched the Little Mermaid show & the Disney Junior Show, which both kids loved. And got to meet June and Quincy from Little Einsteins.
The parade was awesome and the kids were in heaven seeing their favorite Pixar characters! Grayson was pretty star struck with the Incredibles :)
The other highlight of this park was the Beauty and the Beast show. Both kids loved it! And mom did too :)
We ended our Disney trip by meeting Mickey and Minnie. As we walked out, they said goodbye to Disney. Goodbye Mickey and Minnie. Goodbye Cinderella and the princesses. Goodbye Alice. See you next time. It was bittersweet.
Not only was it a great Disney trip, but we got to spend lots of quality time with my husband's side of the family. Sometimes we did our own thing, but the kids loved waking up and being able to walk out and see their Mamaw and Papaw, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Florida trip 2011 = success!

It is so fun isn't it?! We went last year and it seems so long ago already. I want to go back! You have a cute little family;)
ReplyDeleteWe will be going to Disneyland in about three weeks, and I can't wait. Your memories and pictures bring up last years adventure, and get me even more excited for this one:)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I want to go so bad now!!! It looks like you had an AWESOME time! I can't believe all the cool characters you got to see!
ReplyDeleteDon't you feel like the coolest mom ever?! ;) Looks like you had a great trip. Disney can be exhausting (physically and financially) but soooo worth it! Glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip!!! I love that Grayson loved the princess - he's such a little ladies' man! :o) This makes me miss living in Orlando JUST a little bit. We had yearlong passes and could go all the time. Lex was 5, so it was the perfect age. Every single thing about Disney is just so magical! I'm so glad ya'll were able to do this for the kids!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had an amazing time! Makes me even more excited for our trip in less than two weeks! I, too, get teary eyed at seeing the happiness it gives my kids. I feel so blessed to be able to take our kids.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had a blast! You got some great pictures and your kids aren't even scared of the characters. I love it!
