The Other Nutter Butter & Winner!

As some of you may know, my sweet girl has a peanut allergy.
And it is way harder than it sounds.  I'll talk about the extent of peanut allergies another time,
but I always feel so bad for her because she doesn't get to enjoy the treats the rest of the world does.

I found some peanut-free Almonds made by Blue Diamond!

{Yes, most Almonds, Cashews, etc are manufactured around peanuts...}

And I knew I had to make some Almond Butter.

It was super simple.

You Need:
Almonds (or another tree nut)
Canola Oil

Blend 2 Tbs oil for every 2 cups of nuts in a food processor or blender.  It took quite a while and just when I thought it would never get smooth, it finally did!

I couldn't wait for my girl to try all of the wonderful peanut butter delicacies...
{Insert Almond Butter}

Peanut Butter & Jelly
Peanut Butter & Chocolate together
Peanut Butter & Marshmallow Fluff
Peanut Butter & Jelly

She tried it...and didn't like it.  She wanted to so bad.  And we even did Almond Butter on a Banana...
but it was a big fat fail.

On the bright side, Matt, Gray, and I can enjoy Almond Butter whenever we want in our own house without scrubbing our hands, arms, face, tongues, etc. to remove any spec of peanuts!

And the winner is of the Blessed Be Giveaway......

is Natalie of Natsprat!!

  1. YAAAAAAAAAY! Ohmy gosh, I'm so excited!!! Thank you SO much! I'll have to have my daughter help me pick something out!

    That's too bad about the peanut allergies! That has got to be SO hard! :( I never knew you could make your own peanut butter or any kind of nut butter for that matter! I'll have to try my hand at it. Thanks for the great ideas! And the giveaway, too! :)

  2. My daughter has milk, egg, and almond allergies. We know the milk and egg allergies are fairly mild, but no clue on the almond allergy: could be mild or could be life threatening! You never even think of all the places those ingredients could be before you have to. Good luck with your little one. I blog about food allergies and way more on my blog, I'd love to see you around! http://confessionsofaslackermom.blogspot.com

  3. That is a really difficult allergy to handle. I have a friend whose son seems to be allergic to nearly everything. She has a lot of trouble feeding him. I know I'd miss my PB&J. I'm sorry she has to miss out on so much. :o( Although...that almond butter looks like it'd be a pretty good replacement! :o)

I adore comments! Leave me some love, suggestions, comments here :)
