Weekend Getaway

I love the mountains. Ever since I've been little, I loved going to the Great Smokies. We probably went at least 10 times growing up. And since I've been married, this was my fifth trip.

Our trips have always been with our BFFs.

First time, in 2006 we were all married, no kids!

Second time, in 2007 we were expecting!
{Can't find any pics}

Then, 2008 with all the babies!

Then in 2010, we had a new BFF family with us. Four families, with 6 kids under the age of 3!

And this time, it was just two families...but oh, so much fun! I adore the Grazianis!

Our kids are the perfect ages. Layne & Carter {aka. her Boyfriend the entire trip} are only a few weeks apart. And Gray & Luca are only 3 months apart.

We got in late Thursday night & didn't leave until Monday.

We ate. Rode Go Carts. Rode Rides. Shopped. Ate again.
Next day, we ate. Played putt putt. Ate lunch & played at a park. Rode Go Carts. Ate again.
Next day, we ate. Shopped. Played Magiquest. Rode Go Carts. Ate. And Ice Cream.

It sounds like we just ate a lot...which we did! I love me some Apple Barn & Pancake Pantry!

The big kids LOVED the go carts. It was great for them, but the babies just weren't tall enough.

There were also a few places with carnival type rides & the kids loved it!

Of course, my princess saw the castle in Pigeon Forge and insisted that we visit. It was actually nice to have something to bribe her with...I mean reward her good behavior with.

The castle was Magiquest. And they actually discouraged us from doing it with our kids so young. But they both had a blast. Sure, they had no idea what their quest was for, but magic wands that open chests and make things sing and talk = awesome for my kids!

Princess Rapunzel {yes, she picked her name} & Gray the Red

Ice Cream on Sunday was of course, a huge hit! With Layne having a peanut allergy, I'm always super leery to let her have anything besides soft serve ice cream. I asked and Ben & Jerry's was awesome about it! They washed a new scoop, turned the ice cream over and scooped from the bottom of the container. And opened a brand new thing of sprinkles for her.

We had an awesome weekend with awesome friends. The kids had fun. We let them run, get dirty, and play. And they thought it was the best thing ever.

And I have to sneak one last one of my hot hubby in. He probably won't speak to me for a week for this, but I just love him and want to show him off!
